Design, publish, and deploy your first branded desktop wallpaper using the Ambient visual editor.
Last updated: February 22, 2026
Wallpapers are the primary visual communication channel in Ambient. This guide walks you through creating and deploying your first wallpaper.
Step 1: Open the Wallpaper Editor
- In Command Center, navigate to Content → Wallpapers.
- Click New Wallpaper in the top-right corner.
- The visual designer opens with a blank 1920×1080 canvas.
Step 2: Design Your Wallpaper
The visual designer gives you full control over your canvas:
- Text elements: Click the text tool or drag a text block onto the canvas. Set font, size, colour, and alignment in the properties panel.
- Images: Upload your brand logo or background image from the Assets panel. Supported formats: PNG, JPG, SVG, WebP.
- Shapes: Add rectangles, ellipses, or lines for visual structure.
- Backgrounds: Set a solid colour, gradient, or full-bleed image as the canvas background.
Design Tips
- Keep primary messages in the centre or lower-third — taskbars obscure the bottom edge on Windows.
- Use your brand colour palette. Maintain 4.5:1 contrast ratio for any text.
- Leave the bottom 80px clear to avoid conflict with the Windows taskbar.
Step 3: Save and Publish
- Click Save to save as a draft.
- Review the preview on the right-hand panel.
- Click Publish to make the wallpaper available for deployment.
Step 4: Deploy via Campaign
A published wallpaper is deployed through a campaign:
- Navigate to Campaigns → New Campaign.
- Select Wallpaper as the campaign type.
- Choose your wallpaper from the content picker.
- Set a target audience (All Users, All Devices, or specific groups).
- Set a schedule (immediate or date-ranged).
- Click Launch.
Enrolled devices receive the wallpaper within seconds of the campaign going live.
